Rally Driving Experience - Information
The rally driving experience is a challenging, adrenaline
pumping and heart pounding, enjoyable and fulfilling activity,
making for an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime driving
experience. Rally driving events have become so popular that
this form of motorsport is rapidly gaining worldwide attention,
participation and an enthusiastic group of drivers and faithful
fans and spectators.
The rally experience is not for professionals only. Every driver
began as an amateur and novices have more options to choose from
than ever before, allowing the opportunity to enjoy the rally
driving experience first-hand. With many tracks and cars to
choose from there are no limits to the possibilities for every
enthusiast who wants to enjoy the rally driving experience.
Whether for personal relaxation and enjoyment, or given as a
gift, a day spent participating in the rally driving experience
is priceless.
There is no other type of driving comparable to rally driving.
Because rally courses cover all types of terrain and racing
takes place under many kinds of weather conditions, rally
drivers are the best drivers in the world. Rally driving
requires mastering skills, such as rally braking and handbrake
turn, among others. With a little training from a qualified
rally driving instructor and practice, the rally driving
experience is available to anyone who is able to meet the
requirements necessary to drive rally cars. The rally experience
is exhilarating, a true adrenalin rush.
Rally cars are specially built street-legal autos or cars that
are modified production models. They‘re built to meet the
special demands placed upon the vehicles when in competing in
rally races. Their strengthened chassis, aerodynamic parts,
sequential gearbox and turbocharger increase the stability, ease
of handling and speed enable drivers to compete with confidence
on any course and in any weather.
Working alongside every driver is a navigator. They are in
charge of keeping accurate pace-notes, which they relay to the
driver over an interior intercom. Pace-notes allow the driver
predict and prepare for course conditions and provide a detailed
description of the course they are racing on.
In many races, drivers are able to scout the course beforehand,
enabling them to create their own sets of pacenotes. This
procedure known as reconnaissance, providing the drivers the
opportunity to pass this information to their co-pilots who take
written notes as they drive the course. Organizer-created route
notes or stage notes are provided at other rallies and disallow
drivers the opportunity to create their own notes.
The courses are what make the rally driving experience
challenging. They push the cars, and the drivers’ and
navigators’ skills, to their limits. Every course is unique, as
are the various stages they encompass. These many stages, often
on a variety of terrains, require employing techniques and
skills peculiar to rally driving.
With proper training any driver can learn the skills necessary
to complete their chosen course and thoroughly enjoy the
heart-pounding adrenalin-fuelled rush that only the rally
experience can provide. There are so many choices of cars and
courses available to the general public, that each and every
outing is capable of providing drivers new opportunities to
taste the enjoyment and challenges that make the rally diving
experience unique. |
