Hello Sarah, 

As you know, at this special time of year I and my reindeers fly around the world on the night before Christmas delivering special presents to girls and boys.  But one thing is certain – I only deliver presents to people who have been good all year.  So, I looked in my big book that tells me all the five month old girls in the world that have been good in 2008.  And at the top of the first page I saw the name Sarah MacDermott.

So, I asked my little helpers the elves what I could possibly bring a beautiful baby like you as a present.  They said that you might like a a Thomas the Tank Play Set.  Well that would be very special.  I shall have to ask the elves to search the Grotto very hard to see what they can find. 

I've heard that you are growing up very quickly and you already have two teeth.  I also know that your parents are very proud of you. 

Mrs Claus has made some chocolate coins this year, and I think they are delicious.  I’ve put some in this letter for you to try.  I know you are still too young to take the wrappers off by yourself but I'm sure you will still enjoy the chocolate inside.  

Well we are all working very hard to ensure everything is ready for Christmas.  It’s a long way to Glasgow and I have to make sure Rudolph is fit and the sleigh is able to take off – after all it hasn’t flown for a whole year.

So Sarah, make sure you are tucked up snug and warm on Christmas Eve and you are fast asleep before we arrive.  Have a very, very Happy Christmas
