Champagne came from the Romans which then were called la
Champagne which was a natural beauty. Today it is called
just champagne.
Well today Champagne has many different histories to it. There are a lot of questions that can be answered. One
question that you might have is how is wine actually made? Well the first step is the grapes. Wine grapes are grown
just like any other grape and is carefully tended and cared
for. The types of grapes that are used in sparkling wines

Champagne is fermented for 2 to 3 weeks in stainless steel
tanks; at this point the wine goes to something more special
than just wine making. Now when it is time to move forward
the champagne is bottled with extra sugar, yeast and capped
with a soda cap that is very hard to get open indeed. Next
on from this step the bottle is sat in a rack that turns
slowly which helps the second fermentation to move to the
top of the bottle for easy opening. The last step is called
the disgorgement process. This process is when the neck of
the bottle is stuck in a machine and frozen, so when the
cap is removed the frozen plus and sludge is blown out.
After is all said and done a little dosage of champagne is
added to the bottle to fill spaces and it is then capped
with a large Champagne cork.
