One of the biggest revelations is
that the technology that produced the Meccano Spykee Robot is in fact the same
Meccano that years ago brought you toy kits involving bits of metal that had to
be held together with nuts and bolts. But this Meccano Spykee doesn't live
in the past - he is blatantly been

Well for a start he has Wi-Fi, USB, MP3, VoIP. But that's not all he's not just
one robot but with the assistance of 200 different parts and tools the
possibilities of what you can do with the Meccano Spykee Robot are endless.
Spykee can be built in 3
different configurations. Spykee can be controlled in your home with a
conventional Wi-Fi (Wireless) network connection through your home PC or
laptop. Spykee also has a camera mounted on his head which will send
out live video direct to your monitor. Spykee is also
very maneuverable. You can send him anyplace and give him orders him from
a position anywhere in your house. As well as the video camera Spykee also
has a stills camera with motion sensor that will take a picture of any moving
object (such as an intruder!!!!) and e-mail you the image. And finally,
Spykee can also give off an intruder alarm or message when you want. Could
the Meccano Spykee robot be the ultimate spy and surveillance robot?
  
This advanced remote control
technology can be extended from your home so that it work via the internet,
meaning he can be controlled from anywhere in the world. This means you
can log onto the internet whilst on holiday in Spain and send orders to Spykee
on a task around your house in Spalding. Spykee can be also be used as a VOIP
phone & webcam and is compatible with Skype 3.0 (PC) technology.
And just when you thought their
couldn't be any more you find out that Spykee can also act as a digital
music player and can download your favourite songs to his own hard drive and
play them back to you whenever you want.
Special effects include video filters,
sound and light effects.
But with all this activity
Spykee's batteries can run down. But Meccano have thought of this too and
the clever Meccano Spykee robot
automatically returns to his docking station for recharging when the batteries
get to a certain level.
